I’m Lauren, a holistic nutritionist, herbalist, mother and writer.

On my kitchen counter there’s always a bowl or two of something–grains, nuts, seeds, beans–soaking for that night’s dinner or the next morning’s breakfast.  The marrow bone, the salted cabbage, the soaked bean:  I’m in awe of how, with a little preparation and some guidance from traditions, even the humblest foods can provide plenty.

I don’t discriminate based on dietary dogma, but I do tend to eat regionally and in rhythm w/ the seasons. For more on my philosophy of food see:  Nutrition Rule #1: Nourish Yourself, and Sardines 4 Breakfast + Anti-Smoothisms.

    Greetings Lauren!

Just discovered you this morning by way of the newsletter (from the Chicago Local Chapter). What a gift! I’ve already quoted you at one of my blogs!

It appears that you are the chapter leader in Switzerland? How fortunate Geneva is!

In 2000 I became a member not too long after meeting Sally in her Washington DC home where I prepared the first “Sunday brunch” for the founding board members. After I returned home I started the Gold Country local chapter in Northern California. I’m now in San Diego where there are a few local chapters.

I have great affinity with you in this regards as well as regarding “writer and lover of herbs, animal fats and ferments”!

Have a fabulous rest of your life!

Hi there this is a beautiful blog! I’m wondering if we can connect sometime to check in about my daughter a college student. She has similar symptoms to you and I’d love to find out more about your treatments and approach to healing. Please let me know if we can chat sometime!
